To honor NASA's lost Mars Phoenix lander, a mission was launched to the myrdalsjokull glacier in Iceland, where dust covers ice as is it does at the phoenix lander site on Mars.

A somber expedition, carrying the toaster shrine to it's final resting place.

A toaster shrine returned to it's native habitat. The shrine was kept in a freezer in my bedroom for a year broadcasting via webcam, waiting for a signal from the actual lander. NASA pronouced Pheonix destroyed by ice over the harsh Martian winter, so the shrine never reactivated.

The last view of the shrine before it is buried in an icy grave.

Timelapse of the transmission while the toaster waited in my freezer. This project was created as a part of Beam Me Up Beam me Up

Immaculate Telegraphy was an experiment to prove that electronic communication could have been built at any point in history, if only people had the right information. In November, a telegraph switch producing .7 volts was completed, using only the tools shown above.
